Arthur Stanley

Arthur P. Stanley, Jr of Lake Wales passed away Monday, February 18, 2013 at the Lake Wales Medical Center.

He was born March 16, 1920 in Jacksonville to the late Arthur P. & Margaret D. Stanley; he came here from Wayzata, MN in 1969. He was a veteran of World War II, Korean, Vietnam and retired after 22 years of service in the U.S. Navy in 1962. He was also a retired equipment superintendent for Allied Steel and was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. He was also a member of the V.F.W. in Lake Wales, American Legion in Mildred, PA and a former member of the Lake Wales Elks Club. He enjoyed collecting old cars and driving them, traveling, hunting, fishing and sitting on the front porch.

Arthur was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia A. Dolbier; and brothers, John, Frank, Ed and Charles Stanley.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Dorothy R. Stanley; daughter, Patricia G. Fetter (Wayne) of Moss Bluff, LA; sons, Arthur P. Stanley III (Mollie) of Lake Wales, Thomas J. Stanley (Julie) of Lakeland and Michael J. Stanley (Cathy) of Longport, NJ; sister, Dorothy E. Kenny of Tampa and Margaret A. Kenny of Orlando; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held 11:00 am Friday, February 22, 2013 at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lake Wales. Interment will be held at the Florida National Cemetery at a later date
